The History window shows an audit trail of both the workflow and field changes. Revision marks for changes to character fields show up to 4000 characters. When revision marks for a field surpasses 4000 characters, then only the first 3500 characters are shown along with the following statement: NOTE: THERE WERE MORE CHANGES MADE THAN ARE DISPLAYED HERE:

History tracking is enabled for every field by default, but it can be disabled by a module developer. When disabled, the history is not tracked on fields.

The Workflow History displays the Workflow steps and tasks in chronological order.
