Frequently asked questions about Miramar UI
Who is this article for?
Ideagen EHSQ (Formerly the DevonWay platform) Users
Miramar UI, record access, roles, and reporting authorities access restrictions apply.
Miramar, our latest platform iteration, enhances user experience with improved ease of use and consistency, ensuring a smooth workflow. Performance upgrades make the platform faster and more reliable, while advanced technical capabilities support evolving business needs, making Miramar a valuable tool.
Miramar's modern design reduces training time and encourages adoption. Exclusive AI capabilities, a configurable home page, custom dashboards, live components, enhanced search filtering, and easier information sharing options all contribute to a more efficient and personalized user experience.
Here are some of the frequently asked questions about Miramar:
- Must every customer migrate to Miramar? Yes, eventually. While we still support Classic from the perspective of resolving important incidents, we have transitioned all new feature development to the latest version.
- When will Classic be deprecated? We have not set a specific date, although we are targeting 2025. We will not deprecate Classic until all customers have had a reasonable chance to transition to our latest version.
- Can I log in to both platform versions, Miramar and Classic, at the same time? Yes, although we recommend that customers migrate all users at the same time to reduce issues. Miramar is backward compatible, but Classic is not forward compatible. For example, BI reports using Miramar functionality cannot be used in Classic, so using both UIs across the organization is not recommended.
- Will BI reports (e.g., “Jasper” reports) still work in Miramar? Yes, all reports from Classic will work in our latest version. We are upgrading the BI suite to be fully managed software (instead of using the current 3rd-party, Jaspersoft) in our latest version.
- Will Jaspersoft reports be converted to the new reporting tool? As much as possible, at some point in the future. Some transitions may be manual, but we will work together to make this as painless as possible. Please note that "Saved Searches" from classic will now appear in Reports.
- Will tiles be available in Miramar? Tiles as they currently exist are not available in the latest version, but the easy access they provide to shortcuts, toolbar buttons, components, and reports do have Classic UI Tile Parallel options. We want to make it easier, not harder, to get vital information and functions.
- Will the logic (fields, workflow, etc.) of my application change when we migrate to the latest version? No. Choosing to use a Miramar layout will only affect the visual layout of fields. The extent of layout changes will differ based on choices made by the customer. See Preparing for Migration to Miramar UI.
- Can the latest version be accessed in our UAT area? It could, but until the modules have been adjusted to accommodate Miramar they may not render properly. Miramar should only be activated in UAT after the migration commences.
- How can our organization see the latest version? Can we schedule a demo? Of course. A Technical Account Manager (TAM) can help coordinate a demo.
- Why did you choose to name the latest version Miramar? Miramar comes from mirar - "to look at" and mar - "sea" in Spanish and Portuguese. Ideagen and its customers are looking at the sea of possibilities now at our fingertips.
- What should our organization do to prepare for the migration to Miramar? Review the Migration section below.
- Will there be a charge to migrate to Miramar? Yes. Upgrading to the latest version provides each customer with the benefits described above, as well as setting the customer up to take advantage of future enhancements, such as artificial intelligence (AI). The cost to migrate a customer from Classic to Miramar will differ for each customer, based on the complexity of their current implementation.
Below is the standard Miramar migration scope. The In-Scope and Not-In-Scope items may differ for each project.
