Using pre-built visualizations
Who is this article for?
Users who want to build visualizations
Reporting authorities, roles, and record access controls restrict data visibility.
Ideagen BI Charting includes pre-built visualizations suited for each of the product suites. These visualizations are built with a single-click and require little training for less experienced users to quickly create useful and informative chart visualizations of data.
Pre-built visualizations are purpose-built for known reporting needs within the Ideagen product suite. Each pre-built visualization has a specific use case and is designed to visually convey the needed information in a quick and effortless way without any need for in-house reports or additional requests.
Aging
The Aging visualization displays the time between when an object is created and the day the report is run organized into Less than 30, Less than 60, Less than 90, Less than 180, and less than 365-day groupings. Each grouping displays Overdue, Due Soon, Due Later, and No Due Date counts. Each count is a drill down to see the associated records that contributed to the number. Like any search, additional filters can be applied.
The Aging chart can be viewed as a grouping, bar, column, or pie chart, with several different display options and secondary category level-related sections.
Example
The Aging visualization, shown below, displays the breakdown of open Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) records.
Due Date
The Due Date visualization displays a columnar chart showing the current day as the center point of the horizontal axis and columns representing record counts + or - 30 days from the current day. The visualization allows the user to click on the count of older or newer records on either side of the main chart. All elements are interactive supporting drill down. Additional filters can be applied.
Example
In this example, the visualization shows open tickets by due date +/- 30 days from the current day.
Net Resolution
The Net Resolution visualization shows a count of all items created and completed in the last 30 days with a visual indicator showing if the net, or difference between the two numbers, has gone up or down. For reference, the chart also shows history counts for the last 30, last 60, last 90, last 180, and last 365 days with total counts. All elements are interactive, supporting drill down, and additional filters can be applied.
Example
In the example shown, the visualization is targeting the General Actions module. Thirteen net new records were created in the last 30 days.
Recently Created
The Recently Created visualization shows an area graph of records created by the targeted type (Module). Each area represents the count of records created within 14 days shown on the horizontal axis. The legend on the right can be used to interactively filter results. Hovering over an area will show the total count while clicking on an area plot will display search results showing records contributing to that count.
Example
In the example shown, the Work Task, Work Order and Work Request modules have been selected. Counts of each type of record created in the last 14 days are shown as distinct colors plotted over time on the horizontal axis.
Scheduled
(COMING SOON) - (Currently in Beta Feature testing)
The Scheduled visualization is a chart that uses the “Schedule Date” common field (when configured) to show scheduled activities over the next month, quarter, and year.
Program Overview
The Program Overview visualization is a horizontal bar chart overlaying various “Category” fields on the vertical axis with flexible “Value” choices on the horizontal axis. The legend on the right can be used to interactively filter results. Use the Fields and Options panels on the left to select categories and plot field values. Each segment of the bar chart can be used to dynamically drill down into the chart results.
Example
In the CAPA Program Overview example, shown below, each bar represents the total number of records assigned to an individual. Each segment of that assignee’s bar represents workflow tasks.
