A dataset is created when information from one or more modules is combined into a singular database view, which is particularly useful for reporting purposes. This process entails collecting different pieces of data and merging them into a format that is easy to access and analyze. The creation of a dataset ensures that all relevant information is presented in a structured manner, allowing for efficient data retrieval and comprehensive reporting.
For example, a dataset that encompasses all header-level observation data alongside the corresponding child-level data related to those observations. This means that not only is the primary data collected, but also the relevant details that provide context and depth to the observations.
Datasets also serve the important function of “flattening out” data, which involves adding a new row for each child object associated with the parent data.
Deprecated Classic UI Dataset Admin Functions
In the Miramar UI datasets have been deprecated in favor of more performative options such as SSRS reports and native Miramar search and reporting.
