Configuring user login page preferences
Who is this article for?
Users and administrators with Ideagen EHSQ Enterprise or Decani.
Administrative and security access are required to configure login page preferences.
This article explains how to configure login pages for users.
Ideagen Mazlan Home authentication
Some organizations authenticate through Ideagen Mazlan Home instead of the Enterprise login page.
If your organization uses Ideagen Mazlan Home, users log in through there first. After authentication, the Reporting Authority selection screen still appears when applicable.
Login messages and scheduled downtime settings configured on the Login Page Preferences screen apply regardless of the authentication method used.
Password expiration policies configured on the Login Page Preferences screen currently apply only to users who authenticate through the Enterprise login page.
Password expiration policies are not currently supported for users who authenticate through Ideagen Mazlan Home. This is a known product limitation and may be addressed in a future release.
If your organization does not use Mazlan Home, Login Page Preferences work as described in this article.
Configuring login page preferences
To configure login page preferences:
- Navigate to Area Tools.
- Select Login Page Preferences.
The Login Page Preferences screen provides settings that help administrators manage user access and communicate important information to users.
You can use this page to:
- Display login messages to users.
- Schedule downtime and temporarily restrict access to an area.
- Require users to select a reporting authority when they log in.
- Configure password expiration settings.
Login messages
Enter login messages to display information to users. The system automatically displays any message created since a user's previous log in the next time they log in.
Schedule downtime
Schedule downtime to temporarily restrict access during planned outages, upgrades, or major application changes. Refer to the hover help on the screen for guidance on selecting the appropriate time zone.
To bypass downtime restrictions while performing maintenance, add ?admin=Y to the end of the URL. Scheduling downtime does not log out users who are already logged in.
Require reporting authority selection
Require users to select a reporting authority when they log in.
When a user has access to multiple reporting authorities, administrators can enable Require Login Selection. This setting prompts the user to select a reporting authority after authentication and restricts access to the selected reporting authority for the duration of the session.
This option is useful for organizations with multiple sites or reporting authorities where users typically work with information from only one site at a time.
If Require Login Selection is disabled, users can select None to log in with access to all reporting authorities included in their profile.
If Require Login Selection is enabled and only one reporting authority is available, the system automatically selects that reporting authority and bypasses the selection dialog.
Tip
When a user has been assigned to multiple reporting authorities, administrators can enable Require Login Selection.
This setting will prompt the user to choose a reporting authority after authentication and restricts access to the selected reporting authority for the duration of the session.
Optional reporting authority
Disabling Require Login Selection is not currently supported when using:
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Ideagen Mazlan Home authentication
- Mobile applications
Users in these authentication flows must select a reporting authority when applicable.
