Customizing toolbar buttons

Overview
Toolbar buttons contain one or more links to dashboard elements, including reports, other dashboards, external URLs, specific objects, and Create New shortcuts. Administrators can group related links within a toolbar button. Toolbar buttons are displayed to the right of the Create New button.
Create a toolbar button
- From Administrative Area > Tools > Components, select the Toolbar Button tab.
- Click Add Toolbar button.
- Enter a Button Name. Button names can contain up to 150 characters.
- If a toolbar button contains only one link, the button title is hidden and only the link is displayed.
- If a toolbar button contains more than one link, it is displayed as a dropdown menu.
- Add the required links.
- To add links, select the appropriate dashboard element type and then locate the items you want to add.
- Select the checkbox next to the item to add it to the toolbar button.
- For URLs, enter the URL and a display name.
- Use the preview pane to review the toolbar button as you add links.
- Each dashboard can display up to seven toolbar buttons.
- Click Save.
All users can see toolbar buttons
All users can see toolbar buttons. However, only users with the appropriate roles and reporting authorities can access the toolbar URL. Users without the required permissions will see a message informing them that access is restricted.
