Enabling email address override
Who is this article for?
Administrators who are testing notifications in the Classic UI
Area reporting authorities, roles, and record access controls restrict visibility.
The system can generate and send emails from all environments. While this is acceptable in PROD, it is not for Build/Test/UAT environments.
These non-PROD environments include real users with both real and outdated test data.
Since Build/Test/UAT emails resemble PROD emails, sending them could confuse users testing in these environments.
The "Override Email Address" field determines who receives emails from Build/Test/UAT, but it is not accessible via the administrative interface for security reasons.
A ticket must be submitted to support this request. For hosted areas, it goes to Tech Ops; for on-premises, to the IT admin.
By default, emails are not sent from Build/Test/UAT environments:
- These environments may include real users and data, which could cause confusion if unintended emails are sent.
- Development and testing often generate a lot of emails that aren't necessary for end users.
If you would like to request a special exception to receive emails from the Build/Test/UAT environments, please submit a ticket with the specific details of your request, such as the names of users (e.g., administrators) who may need to receive test emails.
