2.43
US Production: April 18, 2019
- Modified the Dashboard to launch a guided tour when first-time users or users who haven't signed on for a year sign on.
- Implemented the first phase of internationalization support, including the ability to define translations for static dashboard elements (like button labels and menu items) and for user messaging (but not for dynamic module screens or user-entered data).
- Made several improvements to the Import Module screen, including running the import asynchronously and providing periodic feedback to the user during the process.
- Fixed search notifications based on dataset searches that contain specific filters on date fields (before or after). Also added logic to gracefully handle cases where the attachment type (PDF or Spreadsheet) is left empty.
- Strengthened overall application security by implementing a few additional protective measures.
- Made the small footer text (such as "Please do not respond to this automated message") in generated emails black instead of gray to make it more noticeable.
- Provided an option to perform search-index updates synchronously for user actions like clicking [Save], [Submit], or [Complete]. When this new option is disabled (which it currently is by default), search-index updates occur in a background process, typically with little or no delay.
- Made the Activity Dashboard admin screen (in the Area Tools folder) publicly available. This shows a list of background jobs, including import and print jobs, which are currently running.
- Modified List-mode searches (that search across all modules) to include results from any module to which the user has role access, even if "Show this module in the list of searchable modules" is not checked for the user's module role. This change matches existing behavior in other search modes (Grid, RESTConnect, etc). (The "Show this module in the list of searchable modules" role property was previously labeled as "Search for objects in the main search screen" in Module Builder.)
2.43.1
US Production: May 9, 2019
- Fixed a condition that led to some checkboxes appearing unexpectedly checked after certain user actions.
- Patched a corner case to make sure that radio-group picklist fields become editable (if appropriate) on selected rows when users click [Edit] on search grids.
- Made several additional internationalization improvements.
- Ensured that search-index updates run in a background process (asynchronously with little or no delay) for most user actions unless the synchronous-feed option is enabled for your subscriber.
2.43.1.1
US Production: May 17, 2019
EU Production: June 12, 2019
- Modified the Data Import admin screen to not update objects when running in preview mode.
- Made changes to ensure that users can successfully drill down from DevonWay BI charts to the underlying data.
- Cleaned up a couple of terms that were inaccurate after our recent internationalization improvements.
2.43.2
US Production: June 6, 2019
- Improved the display of page numbers on the PDFs generated when users open an item and click [Print]. The page numbers now appear clearly (and not redundantly) on the bottom-right corner of every page, with a white background to ensure visibility.
- [Added June 11, 2019] Provided a new subscriber-level "Print Page Size" option, allowing for subscribers to select A4 (in addition to the current Letter) sizing for PDFs generated when users open an item and click [Print]. Note that module developers can use Module Builder to override the subscriber-level setting for a specific module, if necessary.
- Enhanced trending charts that appear when drilling down on a particular cell to display the dots (from previous time periods) on the chart in the same color as the corresponding cell of the base chart.
- Modified Module Builder to ensure that attributes from various popups function as expected. Specifically, we moved field-specific attributes from the Field Calculations, Picklist Values, and References Modules popups to the Field Properties panel on the Fields tab. This modification prevents the possibility of losing changes to those attributes, which had occurred previously when users made changes and then triggered screen refreshes before closing the popup.
- Added a Module Builder validation that reports an error if a module contains duplicate field names across levels, forcing users to fix the duplication before successfully clicking [Save] or [Compile]. (Note that Module Builder already prevents creating new fields with duplicate names, but some modules have existing duplicates.)
- [Added June 20, 2019] Provided a configuration setting for subscribers to optionally hide the "All Items" link (within the Items folder) on the left-side Dashboard panel. This is a step in our plan to deprecate the "All Items" grid over time (as users can run searches across all modules to retrieve similar data).
- Made a few other bug fixes.
2.43.3
US Production: June 27, 2019
- Adjusted module custom logic (rules and calculations) to account for an item's reporting authority when evaluating the user's role access, as users can have access to the same module through multiple roles (each with potentially different reporting authorities). Because this is a custom logic change, it will not take effect until modules are recompiled.
- Fixed a corner case to ensure that clicking a data point on a trending chart correctly applies search filters for the displayed list of search results.
- Added checks to identify slow-running module rules or calculations and log warnings.
- Implemented some additional safeguards to prevent unauthorized data access.
- Modified the "Feedback" slider to behave as expected in IE11.
- Made changes to ensure that certain common-field values (Last Updated On, Last Updated By, Last Updating Process, and Creation Process) appear as expected in search-grid columns when the search is based on a module without workflow enabled.
2.43.4
US Production: July 25, 2019
- Made minor adjustments to server-side processes that support admin screens to accommodate a more secure database connection.
- Modified the Teams admin screen to default the expiration date for new team members (including external parties) to be 100 instead of 10 years after the effective date. To prevent existing team memberships from expiring unexpectedly (which would happen soon for several customers), we adjusted existing expiration dates to be 100 years from the original effective date (only for those memberships that were set to expire in exactly 10 years).
- Enhanced Module Builder to correctly calculate role inheritance for multiple levels (whereas it previously calculated only one level). Although we've deprecated role inheritance in favor of subscriber roles, we made this change to support existing applications that still rely on role inheritance. Module developers can see the list of all inherited roles on the Role Properties popup in Module Builder.
- Modified search grid results to display data in the appropriate columns when certain fields, such as Initiator's Department or any virtual field, are displayed in grid columns. Note that those Module Builder does not allow module developers to make those fields available or visible in search grids.
- Added some new attributes to our user-action audit records and standardized content of existing attributes. Besides making this data more meaningful, these changes provide a better baseline for tracking recent and most-frequently performed user actions.
2.43.5
US Production: August 8, 2019
EU Production: September 25, 2019
- Added support for transitioning legacy ad-hoc (Aware-By-Design) reports to (newer) standard-architecture reporting modules, as one of the last remaining steps in moving off our old architecture. Specifically, we built a special-case feature that provides users (of these reporting module objects) with a button that lets them schedule notifications.
- Added a Newsletter option in the Help menu for users to sign up for the DevonWay newsletter. These are monthly emails announcing big technology updates, new products, upcoming events, tips, and tricks, and more.
- Removed the [Export results to Excel] option for List-mode searches (to avoid potential confusion on what columns should display). You can always switch temporarily to Grid mode to perform the [Export results to Excel] action.
- Repaired a condition to ensure that chart-thumbnail images display as expected on live tiles when users first drag-and-drop charts to their dashboards.
- Made a few other minor bug fixes.
